Charles Leclerc and George Russell had contact in the last proper corner on the final lap of the Miami Grand Prix.
At the Miami Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc and George Russell were investigated by the stewards for their collision at Turn 17 on the final lap. Leclerc, battling for a podium spot, spun and damaged his Ferrari, while Russell was unexpectedly in the hunt for fourth position after a battle with Max Verstappen. Both drivers considered their contact a minor racing incident according to the stewards’ verdict. However, Leclerc received a 20-second penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage, dropping him to eighth place. This incident allowed Lewis Hamilton and Franco Colapinto to advance to sixth and seventh place, respectively, with Colapinto achieving a career-best finish.
